The Franklyns are Steve Betts and Barbara Marsh.
Barbara was born in Rhode Island USA and lived all over the States until she arrived in New York where she performed in the Village and worked as a bartender. She moved to England and continued playing solo before co-forming The Dear Janes and releasing three albums on Castle, Geffen and Sore Thumb Records and touring the UK, Europe and the States. Barbara is a published poet. Her collection To the Boneyard and the pamphlet Mr. Ferndean Takes Stock are published by Eyewear. She is also a recipient of the Troubadour International Poetry Prize.
Steve was born in Cornwall UK and stayed there until he moved to London where he worked in a furniture store and played in bands including Marvelous Kid and Grannie. He subsequently formed the Books and released three singles and an album on Logo records before adopting the stage name L. Howard Hughes and working with the Associates, Peter Murphy, Howard Hughes and The Western Approaches and many others. He was also Senior Lecturer and Programme Leader on the BA (Hons) Music Performance and Production programme at the University of East London.

Barbara est une poétesse publiée. Son recueil To the Boneyard et le pamphlet Mr. Ferndean Takes Stock ont été publiés par Eyewear. Elle est également lauréate du Troubadour International Poetry Prize.
